Team Spotlight
Get to know Michelle McGoldrick
Q: Where do you live?
A: I live on the traditional lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the ̓Lekwungen, Songhees, and Esquimalt Nations, also known as Victoria.
Q: What is your position at RCCbc?
A: I’m a project coordinator.
Q: What does that mean?
A: I support two RCCbc projects: ROAM-SP, and RSON. This means I work closely with the project managers and a variety of stakeholders within the programs.
Q: Describe RCCbc in three words.
A: Innovative, caring, collaborative.
Q: What motivated you to join RCCbc?
A: I’ve always had a soft spot for rural communities as I spent the first 13 years of my life growing up in Campbell River. Being part of a network that helps support rural healthcare was a huge factor in wanting to join the team.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The team! Everyone works so well together, and the support system that has been created is fantastic.
Q: What has been one of your proudest moments working at RCCbc?
A: As I’ve only been a part of the team for nearly four months, I still haven’t had my “proudest moment” moment. I do, however, feel proud to talk to those around me about the wonderful work happening at RCCbc and what it means for rural communities.
Q: What do you like to do on your days off?
A: Paddle boarding, spending time with friends and family, and exploring antique and thrift stores.
Q: Where is your favourite place in British Columbia?
A: Miracle Beach on Vancouver Island!
Q: What’s the next item on your bucket list?
A: It’s a toss-up between Japan and seeing more of Europe.
