We are thrilled to feature an amazing line-up of speakers and topics in our program that is packed with opportunities to network and interact with individuals who can share and learn the unique benefits of rural practice. 

 

  • Social and networking events to connect with rural peers, including locums 
  • Interactive breakout sessions and hands-on skills workshops to discover current and emerging trends in rural medicine 
  • Pre-conference courses include: The CARE Course Goes WILDE and the Rural POCUS Congress 
  • Presentation of the BC Rural Health Awards on Friday afternoon

Call for Poster Abstracts – Deadline March 15

Poster abstract applications are now being accepted for the 2024 BC Rural Health Conference, running May 24-26, 2024 in Whistler, BC.

 

A selection of posters will be on display throughout the conference. Topics will range from improving the rural health of patients and communities, cultivating rural innovations, creating high-quality health system improvements across British Columbia or globally, and more.

 

If you are interested in sharing your poster at the 2024 BC Rural Health Conference, please complete the following application form. Successful applicants will be contacted with additional information and receive get a discounted fee off registration. The submission deadline for the poster abstracts is March 15th, 2024.

Although CME is a major component of the BC Rural Health Conference, the biggest advantage to attending this event is the chance to reconnect with rural health colleagues during the conference and its numerous social and networking events.

Funding to attend the BC Rural Health Conference

The Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) sponsors UBC medical students and residents to attend national and provincial rurally focused medical conferences each year. Applicants must have an interest in exploring rural medicine upon completion of training and must also be enrolled in the UBC MD Undergraduate Program or in a UBC family medicine, specialty or sub-specialty residency program. Medical students and residents who have an interest in exploring rural medicine may apply for up to $1,200 for travel and accommodation expenses plus conference registration.
