The purpose of this program is to encourage third year undergraduate medical students to spend a minimum of four weeks in rural physicians’ offices during their Rural Family Practice Clerkship rotations. Students may apply for a housing allowance (stipend) of $250/week to help offset the cost of accommodation. In addition, REAP provides reimbursement of up to $800 of travel expenses per rotation. Students may also apply to extend their rural studies for up to four additional weeks, pending available funding.
