The purpose of the Urban Skills Enhancement Program is to provide training opportunities for urban physicians in order to enhance their skills and recruit them to enter family practice in rural communities in BC.
Eligibility:
- Medical doctors practicing in an urban community who wish to upgrade their skills before they enter rural family practice in BC.
- Must complete one month of service in an RSA community in BC within four months of completion of training.
Benefits:
- REAP will provide compensation for successful completion of ATLS.
- REAP will provide compensation for the successful completion of one month of training in a post graduate training site.
- Stipend of $3,400/week.
- $450/week from stipend is to be paid to the primary preceptor or departments.
- Travel costs up to $2,000 for the duration on training.
- $1,000/week actual accommodation costs.
