  • Community Information

Gibsons and Sechelt are among the larger communities on the Sunshine Coast, a region whose name derives from the considerable sunshine it receives. The relaxed style, stunning natural beauty and year-round recreational opportunities of the area make it a highly desirable place to take root. Its close proximity to Vancouver gives residents the chance to experience city life, and return home, all in the same day.

Sechelt is situated on a small neck of land separating Sechelt Inlet from the Strait of Georgia. Home to its original inhabitants, the Shishalh First Nations people, the community was the first aboriginal group in Canada to adopt self-government. Sechelt boasts a spectacular coastline blessed with pebbled beaches, lush mountains and cascading waterfalls.

Temperatures average 4 degrees Celsius in the winter and 17 degrees Celsius in the summer.
