“Yunesit’in is located approximately 105 km West of Williams Lake, 8 km South of Hanceville. The Yunesit’in Caretaker Area stretches as far as the Fraser River to the East, Taseko Lakes (Dasiqox) to the West, Chilcotin River (Tsilhqox) to the North, and Graveyard Valley to the South.
The culture embraces Tsilhqot’in values and the identity in the land is expressed through central activities including horses and fishing. Yunesit’in Government is the governing and administrative body of the community, which includes a social, health, land, housing departments, a school for kindergarten to grade 8, youth centre and economic development.
Yunesit’in is on of the six communities that comprise the Tsilhqot’in Nation.”
