Get to know Danette Dawkin

Q: What is your position at RCCBC? 

A: I am the physician lead for the RCCbc Communications and Rural Site Visit Program portfolios. I am also part of the UBC CPD Coaching and Mentorship Program (CaMP), and occasionally the BC Emergency Medicine Network working group.

 

Q: What does that mean?   

A: In short, it means Stu Johnson has retired! I intend to bring my soul deep enthusiasm and passion for rural medicine and rural communities to help RCCbc grow connections, communication, and collegiality across all of BC, and across all partnerships.

 

Q: Describe RCCbc in three words.   

A: Fills my cup. 

 

Q: What motivated you to join RCCbc?   

A: To be part of and do work for something bigger and better than myself.

 

Q: What do you like most about your job?   

A: Working with, and learning from, the people of immense talent, passion, wisdom, creativity, and experience that make up the very who, what, and why of RCCbc.

 

Q: What has been your proudest moments working with RCCbc? 

A: Simply being part of such a myriad of meaningful and transformational work over the past almost 8 years.

 

Q: What is your next item on your bucket list?

A: Swimming with marine iguanas in the Galapagos!
