Learning objectives for sessions

Rural and regional physicians and specialists, nurses, nurse practitioners, allied healthcare practitioners, administrators, and health educators are all invited to learn about rural medicine, including emergency medicine, hands-on skills enhancement, and interprofessional team practice.

Conference-associated courses include:

  • The CARE Course – CANCELLED
  • The Shock Course – CANCELLED
  • HOUSE Program: Ultrasound for Trauma

HOUSE Intensives – two hour ultrasound workshops – will also be offered during the RHC conference for an additional fee. The following topics will be covered:

  • The Abdomen
  • Ectopic Pregnancy and IVC
  • Vascular Access and MSK

We highly recommend you register early, as courses, workshops, and select sessions have limited seating.

Online registration available until May 1. Registration will be available on site at the Prince George Civic Centre on May 11, 12 and 13.

    This one-day event is filled with great speakers and workshops and will be a great kick off to the BC Rural Health Conference! Brought to you by UBC’s Faculty Development Team.

    Our plenary speakers Dr. Steven Yau, Faculty Development Representative, IMG Program, and Dr. Ray Markham, Medical
    Director of Rural CPD, UBC CPD, will be presenting a session on Teaching International Medical Graduates (IMGs).

    Workshop topics will include:

    • Teaching Tips for IMGs
    • Giving Useful Feedback
    • Learner in Difficulty

    Following the course, there will be a Meet ‘n’ Greet Reception with the BC Rural Health Conference participants at 6:00pm
    in the Civic Centre Atrium.

  • Room available for bookings on Friday & Saturday

    RCCbc is offering rural practitioners a free space that may be used to host meetings, training modules, or topical discussions for up to two hours per booking. The room seats 18 people and is equipped with a projector. Contact Elisa Chow (echow@rccbc.ca) for more information.

  • Join us for a social dinner on Friday, May 12, featuring the foot-tapping tunes of the Dr Fishy band. This northwest inspired indie rootsy folk band hails from Terrace, BC and will be playing live at our annual social event.
