Rural health practitioners, administrators, and health educators are all invited to learn about rural emergency medicine, rural nursing, physician support initiatives, and wilderness medicine.
Conference delegates will have the opportunity to brush up on a wide range of topics including obstetrical and gynecological emergencies, indigenous cultural competency, and clinical coaching. There will be a wide selection of hands-on workshops to choose from for the 2015 event, including airway management, suturing, ultrasound, casting, and injections.
Pre-courses include The Shock Course, The OB Ultrasound Course and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program. These courses will be offered on Wednesday and Thursday, May 20 + 21, 2015. The innovative and popular Wilderness Medicine course will be offered as a post-course on Sunday, May 24, 2015.
UPDATE: The OB Ultrasound Course is now full. Neonatal Resuscitation Program has been cancelled.
Preceptors interested in rural faculty development should consider attending Okanagan Orchards on Thursday, May 21 before the conference starts.
