The purpose of this program is to encourage fourth year undergraduate medical students to spend additional time in rural physician’s offices. REAP provides funding to UBC medical students who spend elective time in Rural Subsidiary Agreement Communities during their 4th year.
Through the Year 4 Undergraduate Rural Elective Program, fourth year UBC medical students may apply for reimbursement of actual travel and accommodation expenses to the maximums identified below:
- Accommodation up to $350/week for rotations beginning June 1, 2022 or later.
- Accommodation up to $250/week for rotations beginning prior to June 1, 2022.
- Roundtrip travel between the home training site and the elective site up to $1,000
- Students may apply for reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses for up to 12 weeks.
