• Kootenay Bay is located on Highway 3A on the eastern shore of Kootenay Lake, and serves as the eastern terminal of the Kootenay Lake ferry, connecting with Balfour on the western shore, and Nelson to the southwest.

    Kootenay Bay is a small lakeside resort community located in the Creston Valley, along the eastern shore of Kootenay Lake.

    Although Kootenay Bay is located in what was once a rich mining area, the town itself was never a mining camp.
