Resident RTVS Rounds is an educational series offered by the Real-Time Virtual Support (RTVS) program to increase physician residents’ exposure to medical practice in rural British Columbia (BC).
Residents will learn about:
Resident RTVS Rounds are open to all residents in BC. Although they are primarily targeted towards family practice residents, emergency, pediatrics, internal medicine, and psychiatry residents could also benefit from the Rounds and are welcome to attend.
Resident RTVS Rounds are held the first Friday of every month at 1 p.m. Please register using this form the link, meeting ID and passcode to join the meeting. Each Round is one hour in length, focusing on a topic relevant to general practice.
Resident RTVS Rounds are different than standard lectures. They include a short didactic portion, followed by a longer discussion period, where residents can explore how even standard general practice medicine differs in rural and remote locations, and can be uniquely managed using telehealth and virtual medicine.
Presenters at Resident RTVS Rounds either live and work in rural BC, or practice telehealth or virtual medicine for rural BC. All presenters understand rural health providers’ circumstances and work.
