Whether you joined us in Prince George or are catching up from afar, our recap video offers a glimpse into the people and moments that made this year’s BC Rural Health Conference unforgettable.
Held in early June on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, the 2025 BC Rural Health Conference brought together nearly 400 physicians, learners, allied health professionals, exhibitors, and partners for four days of connection, continuing education, and community celebration.
This year’s program leaned into both heart and skill. From hands-on pre-conference workshops like The CARE Course and CASTED: Emergency, to practical skills sessions and reflective talks from leaders like Dr. Adam Sandell, learning was grounded in real rural experience. Whether it was exploring point-of-care ultrasound with Dr. Virginia Robinson or joining a trauma-informed dialogue with Dr. Terri Aldred and Elder Cheryl Schweizer, the spirit of collaboration and care was present throughout.
Beyond the sessions, attendees explored Prince George by trail, brush, and forest—with guided nature walks, local restaurants, and a community paint night led by Métis artist Erin Stagg. The Saturday evening social at Exploration Place brought laughter (and dinosaurs) and offered a meaningful opportunity to recognize this year’s Rural Health Award winners:
