SRPC’s Virtual Orientation: Exploring Rural Residency | National Rural Health Week

As part of National Rural Health Week, SPRC and RCCbc are hosting a comprehensive 2-hour virtual session designed to introduce medical students and International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to the world of Rural Residency and Rural Health.

Description:
The first hour will feature a few SRPC members, a presentation on why residents choose rural medicine, and a large Q&A session. In the second hour, we’ll break into smaller groups by school, where medical students can engage directly with residents and Med School Liaisons and ask questions that will provide insights into various rural residency programs.
Objectives:
- Increase awareness/knowledge on what rural residency looks like
- Promote connection with the SRPC and advertise the rural residency tour and the SRPC’s Rural Residency Catalogue.
- Providing a space for medical students/IMGs to network with current rural residents
