Course Overview:
The ACLS Provider course will help you to develop skills – as a member of a healthcare team – in simulated situations that mirror real-life cardiac-related emergencies that happen in hospital environments such as the Emergency Room, Operating Room, ICU, or advanced care practitioner setting in out-of-hospital situations.
Day 1 (online):
- The traditional 2 day ACLS course is now broken up into two portions. Day 1 is a self-paced online component from the Heart and Stroke Foundation (approx 4hrs).
- This online component can be done anytime, at your own convenience, before Day 2.
Day 2 (In-person Feb 7, 9am – 5pm):
- In-class instruction starting with BLS/ACLS skills assessments and scenarios with other participants.
Simulations will involve:
- High-quality CPR
- High-performance team dynamics and communication
- Systems of care
- Recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.
You will be able to reinforce concepts, undertake skills practice, receive coaching and correction, and refine your abilities.
