Team Spotlight

Get to know Katrina Bepple

Q: Where do you live?

A: Kelowna, British Columbia (BC)

Q: What is your position at RCCbc?

A: Manager of Partnerships and Engagement, supporting a variety of programs, such as Compassionate Leadership and the Network of Rural Divisions.

Q: What does that mean?

A: As RCCbc continues to grow in size of team and scope of work, my goal is to ensure that programs remain linked and that we can leverage alignments where possible. I work with our team, as well as regional and provincial partners, to ensure the continued success and sustainability of programs.

Q: Describe RCCbc in three words.

A: Relationships, collaboration, culture.

Q: What motivated you to join RCCbc?

A: As the past Chilliwack and Fraser Heatlh Rural Divisions of Family Practice Executive Director, I partnered with RCCbc through both the Network of Rural Divisions and the Rural Equity Fund.

In March 2021, I moved back to the Kelowna area, the traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan People, to be closer to family. This presented a wonderful opportunity to get involved with RCCbc as a team member, and I jumped at the chance.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: The work culture. RCCbc values who you are as a human being, and that care extends to our partners. By building relationships and trust, when we come up on challenges, which we will, we can lean into the relationships to work through (or around) them.

Q: What has been one of your proudest moments working at RCCbc?

A: My work with the Real-Time Virtual Support program, and continuing to support our peer-to-peer pathways to be responsive and nimble to community needs. I’m proud of the new relationships I’ve been able to forge, and the old ones I’ve strengthened, through this work.

Q: What do you like to do on your days off?

A: I love to garden and explore the outdoors with my dog, Cobalt. While I’m home, I like to curl up on the couch with a fire and good book with my cat, Coal.
