Join SPRUCe for a CME accredited session hosted online via Zoom with Dr. Matthew Burkey, MD, PhD, MPH, FRCPC.
Dr. Burkey is a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (Williams Lake) and he is the Medical Lead for Northern Health Child & Youth Mental Health and Substance Use as well as the Medical Director for Interior Health Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor UBC Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Burkey will:
- Review techniques to assess suicidal risk in the acute setting.
- Discuss strategies to support a potentially suicidal patient.
- Identify additional resources to support practitioners in rural communities when caring for suicidal pediatric patients.
