Get to know Kirk McCarroll

Q: Where do you live?

A: Revelstoke, British Columbia (BC).

 

Q: What is your position at RCCbc?

A: I’m an RCCbc Core member and the medical lead of the Family Practice Anesthetist (FPA) Network.

 

Q: What does that mean?

A: A connection with the province’s FPAs. I feel my role is to represent the unique interests of the FPAs to RCCbc. This role is important to support patients having better access to care.

 

Q: Describe RCCbc in three words. 

A: Patient-centred, intellectual, strong.

 

Q: What motivated you to join RCCbc? 

A: My interests in sustaining and improving rural surgical services led me to get involved with RCCbc.

 

Q: What do you like most about your job? 

A: An opportunity to connect and reconnect with other physicians around the province and the country.

 

Q: What has been one of your proudest moments working at RCCbc?

A: Working collaboratively in developing and offering clinical coaching programs for FPAs.

 

Q: What is your favourite place in BC?

A: Galena Bay, in the West Kootenay region.

 

Q: What do you like to do on your days off?

A: Wilderness river trips.
