Overview
The Physician Education Program, in partnership with the Rural Community Medical Education Fund and the Port McNeil Hospital, are excited to present ECG Interpretation Beyond the Basics for Rural North Island: Part One, Fundamentals & Acute Coronary Syndromes. Join us for an in-person 90 minute learning session to discuss some basic review of common ECG interpretation skills, with a particular focus on ischemia, mimickers, and how to identify high risk patients that would warrant more urgent transport. Following the session, there will be a group dinner with Dr. Thibert with the opportunity to ask more in-depth questions and network.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Review and enhance knowledge regarding fundamentals of ECG interpretation including normal variants and ECG artifacts.
- Review and enhance understanding of ischemic ECG changes and their clinical significance in a remote/rural environment. To risk stratify ACS patients to understand the urgency of transport.
- Review and understand the mimickers of acute ischemia.
- Review and understand the ECG signs of previous myocardial infarction.
