What is the HOUSE OB Course?
The Hands-On Ultrasound Education Course (HOUSE OB) supports rural health care practitioners who provide obstetrical care to patients. You will improve your management of patients in their first and third trimester through hands-on learning sessions with rural physicians who are experienced in point-of-care ultrasound.
What will I learn?
Recognize third and first trimester ultrasound indications including
- Fetal presentation
- Fetal cardiac activity
- Amniotic fluid index (AFI)
- Whether multiple fetuses are present
- First trimester dating
What to expect?
The Hands-On Ultrasound Education Program delivers innovative content and on-site learning.
Part 1: Online
Learners complete online modules prior to on-site learning.
Part 2: Hands-on Workshop (Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre (Broadway), 711 W. Broadway, Heather St, Vancouver, BC)
On-site learning, including practice using live models and simulation equipment.
Eligibility:
This course is only offered to actively practicing physicians, midwives and NPs, with priority given to those practicing in BC RSA communities. This means that at this time we are unfortunately unable to accommodate any physicians/midwives/NPs located elsewhere, and/or non-physician or NP healthcare providers who may be interested in the course. Thank you for your understanding. If you are interested in this course and do not meet the criteria, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected] and we can contact you if we open up additional spots.
