Get to know Katja
Q: Where do you live?
A: Vancouver, BC.
Q: What is your position at RCCBC?
A: I’m the People and Culture, Administrative Coordinator.
Q: What does that mean?
A: I get to coordinate and brainstorm meetings and events, from big to small, and help connect our team members in a *hopefully* fun way.
Q: Describe RCCbc in three words.
A: People helping people.
Q: What motivated you to join RCCbc?
A: After working for a large multi-national for the last three years, I wanted to join a more regional team that was focused on helping the community.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting all the highly motivated people who work here! Meetings are so great because the discussion spins off into different ideas for new projects, etc. and that is so fun to be a part of.
Q: What has been one of your proudest moments working at / with RCCbc?
A: Helping plan and coordinate the Rural Health Conference in person. It was great to meet people and see first hand why RCCbc does what it does. I saw so many connections being made between people and organizations that wouldn’t otherwise have met.

Q: What do you like to do on your days off?
A: Gardening, trying new restaurants with my husband, relaxing at home with my cats.
Q: Where is your favourite place in British Columbia?
A: Telegraph Cove. It’s beautiful, relaxing, and a great place to see whales, seals, sea lions, porpoises, etc.
Q: What one thing can you not live without?
A: Tea! I drink it all day long and find it very hard to function without it.
