Get to know Leanne

Q: Where do you live? 

A: I live, work and play on the ancestral, and traditional lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səlí lwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (TsleilWaututh) Nations, also known as Vancouver.

 

Q: What is your position at RCCBC? 

A: I provide finance and administrative support for Rural Personal Health Records.

 

Q: What does that mean?   

A: I  handle invoices, expenses, coding and many other things for finance, and I also help with arranging meetings and note taking for the rural Personal Health Records program.

 

Q: Describe RCCbc in three words.   

A: Rural at heart. 

 

Q: What motivated you to join RCCbc?   

A: I wanted to be part of an organisation that is cause-driven and helping to make the world a better place!

 

Q: What do you like most about working at / with RCCbc?

A: I love being able to make connections with people who have such a wealth of knowledge and experience in what they do and a real passion for their work.

 

Q: What has been one of your proudest moments working at / with RCCbc?

A: I had the privilege of attending my first site visit this year, where I travelled to New Denver and Nakusp with Stu Johnston and my colleague, Robyn Ellsworth. To work alongside them was both an educational and enjoyable experience and made me feel proud to be a part of RCCbc and proud of our team.

 

Q: What do you like to do on your days off?

A: I enjoy jogging, swimming, reading (a lot of murder mysteries) and having many many phone calls with my family back in Ireland.

 

Q: Where is your favourite place in British Columbia?

A: Stanley Park!

 

Q: What is the next item on your bucket list?

A: To visit Alaska (and hopefully see a moose!)
