SPRUCe | Optimization of Technology in Pediatric Office Practice

Dr. Tommy Gerschman and Dr. Kyle Phipps will be presenting on artificial intelligence and optimizing your EMR for rural community pediatricians.
Presentation Learning Objectives:
- Compare the benefits and challenges of using an AI Scribe to support clinical documentation
- Outline an approach to incorporating an AI Scribe into the pediatrician’s workflow
- List medicolegal and regulatory considerations related to the use of AI Scribes
- Describe how to create custom macros and template letters
- Utilize automatic patient texting services for reminders
- Discuss the integration of talk to text from Powerchart into Accuro
Dr. Kyle Phipps is a community pediatrician practicing in Duncan, BC. He has used Accuro throughout residency and during the past 4 years of practice, typically completing documentation during his clinic day and utilizing macros, templates and rx favorites as time saving tools. Join this session to hear his tips.
Dr. Tommy Gerschman is a pediatric rheumatologist practicing in North Vancouver and Burnaby. He is a strong advocate for enhancing efficiency in community-based practices and has supported provincial Digital Health initiatives with the Ministry of Health and Doctors of BC. Recently, he led a pilot project integrating AI Scribes to reduce clinical documentation burdens.
