REAP Programs for Rural Practitioners

  • Emergency Education Program
    The Emergency Education Program provides family physicians practicing in smaller rural communities with a three-month, full-time, remunerated fellowship in Emergency Medicine. The Emergency Education Programs provide structured learning that is practical and relevant, offering a unique opportunity for comprehensive skills enhancement in Emergency Medicine.

 

 

  • Rural Skills Upgrade Program
    Funding for upfront skills enhancement training of physicians who are new or returning to rural practice or members of Locums for Rural BC looking to prepare for the challenges of rural practice in BC.

 

  • Specialty Training Bursary
    Funding to rurally-bound medical specialty residents or rural physicians who are completing focused postgraduate training that will lead to certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

 

 

  • Closer to Home CME
    Funding for groups of rural BC physicians to access rurally-relevant training in their communities.

 

  • Rural Leadership Development Program
    Funding to increase opportunities for rural physicians to pursue leadership training and develop the skills and abilities to help bring system improvements that will benefit British Columbia’s rural populations. Effective April 1, 2024, REAP’s Rural Leadership Development Program will be absolved into the Advanced Skill & Training Program.
