Led by rural physicians, the Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) is a network that improves the health of rural people and communities. Funded primarily by the Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues, our network partners include healthcare providers, healthcare administrators, community members, policymakers, educators, researchers, and non-profit and business leaders. We serve all communities in British Columbia covered by the Rural Practice Subsidiary Agreement.

Role Summary

RTVS Profile

Real-Time Virtual Support (RTVS) program is RCCbc’s flagship provincial program, delivered in partnership with the First Nations Health Authority, the BC Ministry of Health, and regional healthcare partners. The program provides rural, remote, and Indigenous frontline healthcare providers with 24/7 access to virtual physician and specialist support through a network of peer-to-peer clinical pathways. RTVS is transforming healthcare access and outcomes across BC.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, RTVS, the Director, Innovation + Quality Improvement leads the identification, assessment, prioritization, development, and evaluation of RTVS improvement and innovation work. The Director maintains the complete project and improvement portfolio, provides direction to Senior Project Coordinators and the Faculty and Development Outreach department to advance the cultural-safety, education, simulation, and relational culture mandate.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished health systems and operations leader to shape the strategic direction and impact of a growing provincial organization. The ideal candidate will possess experience in governance, project and portfolio oversight, organizational improvement, and partner engagement. This position requires graduate degree (in medicine, nursing, health administration, public health or a related health discipline) in combination with a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in clinical services, physician services, health operations or a related environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This position is open to both physician and non-physician applicants. The salary range for non-physician candidates is $104,183 to $121,547 for a full-time position. Physician compensation is based on a 0.5 FTE appointment and PMA-negotiated sessional rates.
