The CARE Course goes WILDE!
Imagine the immersive, super-positive educational experience of The CARE Course with an extended curriculum to include remote outdoor settings: hiking in the back-country, paddling on a canoe trip, broken down on a mountain highway, or alone at an outpost.
The CARE Course goes WILDE! will bring experienced rural physicians, nurses and pre-hospital providers together to live and learn for three fun-filled days. Up to 24 inter-professional participants will camp for three nights on a property just outside of Pemberton, 40 minutes north of Whistler. Bring your own tent / van / hammock, sleeping bag & outdoor gear (waterproofs, footwear, flashlight etc, small backpack, etc.) Healthy, hearty and wholesome food will be provided each day. (** This really is glamping as the course is fully catered indoors on the property. **)
This course offers all the usual content from The CARE Course (airway, trauma, cardiac, pediatric/neonatal and obstetrical emergency care – for the rural practitioner) plus doing some of those things in a ‘wilderness’ / outdoor setting… and includes some niche wilderness medicine topics.
